Composing Behavior in React or Why React Hooks are Awesome

Over the past 4 years, React Router has become one of the most widely used pieces of the React ecosystem. Working on React Router was actually how I got my start in React, and it's been incredibly humbling and rewarding to work on something that brings so much value to businesses and to the React community. 

In this talk, I'll cover the current state of React Router, as well as discuss several new features and updates we have made so the router is ready for React's (async) future!

UNPKG: The CDN for everything on npm

Since May 2014 over 100 people have contributed code to React Router and many, many more have filed issues, given talks, and used the router in both server and client environments. It has been mine and Ryan's privilege to work with and learn from these wonderful people and to guide the direction of a library that we hope will help us all build amazing products and tools with React over the next few years.

This year we are introducing support for React Native and we are working closely with the Relay team to ensure the router meets the needs of React developers everywhere React runs. More importantly though, we are focused on bringing great experiences to consumers of applications built using React Router. In this talk, we will discuss how your users can benefit from the many tools the router provides including server-side rendering, real URLs on native devices, and much, much more.

React Router

react-router is a powerful routing library built on top of React that helps you add new screens and flows to your application incredibly quickly, all while keeping the URL in sync with what's being displayed on the page. The project benefits from several years of combined experience working with the legendary Ember.js router.

This talk will show how the router makes it easy to implement many common flows including authentication, navigation prompts, and animation. We'll also explore some advanced techniques including server-side rendering and partial application loading.
